在“songs for sorrow”中收录的四首歌曲都围绕着悲伤的主题，而“Lady Jane”则更是一改Mika之前华丽欢快的风格，以纯钢琴伴奏的形式讲述了一个十分伤感的童话故事。随这张EP一起发售的还有同题画册，包含了这四首歌的歌词和相应情节的图画，由Mika喜欢的艺术家绘制，“Lady Jane”相关插画分别由以色列服装设计师Alber Elbaz、插画师Sophie Blackall、Kerascoët等艺术家完成。（图片资料的话只找到这一张→Lady Jane 的插画）
Mika极具辨识度的高音和琴声一起跟着故事情节由缓至疾，将这凄美的童话故事娓娓道来，伴奏沉静流畅，前奏与结尾完美呼应，将整个海洋的冰冷深邃伴着故事的悲伤一并表现出来。似曾相识的情节将美人鱼和水仙花这些故事带入歌曲中，却又多了几分“将美好的东西毁灭给人看”的悲剧气质，使得听者不得不为Lady Jane的不幸以及人类的贪婪无知而动容。
不过这还是阻止不了我将鱼类视为食物的热情。
